Today I delivered 1 hour session on “Tune Your ASP.NET Application Using Visual Studio 2010 Profiler”  at Microsoft Virtual Tech days 2011.  Got few minute delayed to start the session due to some network issues. during the session I started with fundamentals of profiling and  different profiling methods and also talked about choosing right profiling technique. During the demos I showed different tooling features with in VS 2010 Profiler. Profiled  Few ASP.NET Application using Sampling and Instrumentation and  discussed about complete analysis and internal of how sampling and instrumentation works . I have also covered the Tier Interaction Profile, Profiling ASP.NET Application from Command Prompt and JavaScript Profiling.

My Upcoming Events : Virtual Tech Days and Developer Conference 2011

imageThe 12th edition of  Microsoft Virtual Tech Days – being held on 28th to 30th Sept 2011.   I’ll be presenting a session on Web Developer Track and will talk about  Tune Your ASP.NET Application Using Visual Studio 2010 Profiler on 29th Sept 2011 from 1:45pm – 2:45pm (IST) . Application Performance is very much critical for any business so, tuning and analyzing application’s performance  is must needed for any application. In this Session  we  will learn  how we can use Visual Studio 2010 Profiler to Tune ASP.NET Web Application with different approaches like Sampling ,Instrumentation and other profiling strategy. We will learn about details application execution process, object allocation, call trees which help tune the performance of the application and how instrumentation  can helps to get those details by injecting  a marker in the underlying code base of application  . We will also learn how we can use profiler with web load testing, profiling application from IIS, Profiling with IIS Express, Compare different profiling reports  and finally will look inside some JavaScript Profiling.

Today I delivered an 1 hour session on “Caching Enhancement in ASP.NET 4.0”  at Microimagesoft Virtual Tech days 2011. It was the Day 1  of Virtual Tech Days and I presented the 4th session  on Developer Track 1, from 3.00 PM To 4.00 PM IST. Thanks to all of you for attending my session. In this session I have discussed about ASP.NET 4.0 Caching Enhancement . I started with fundamentals of ASP.NET Caching to make sure all the attends are in same page. In Caching Quick Tour section I have talked about why Caching ? What are the different types of caching ? How Caching works ? etc. Then I have discussed about New Object Caching API in .NET 4.0. In this section I have talked about new Memory Cache API, there Implementation using System.Runtime.Caching . I have also shown how we can use same set of API in an Winforms / WPF / Console Application. Followed by, I have explained how we can extend the Object Caching by implementing MemoryCache Class.

Today I delivered an 1 hour session on “Debugging Web Application using IntelliTrace”  in Microsoft Virtual Tech days 2010. It was the Day 2  of Virtual Tech Days and I presented the 5th session Slide on Developer Track 1, from 4.15 PM To 5.15 PM IST. Thanks to all of you for attending my session. In this session I discussed about IntelliTrace Debugging, which is  one of the most exciting features of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate edition. I started with fundamentals of IntelliTrace debugging and then move to the topic “How it works? “.  After that I have shown one complete demo on different settings like X86, Any CPU configuration, ASP.NET Events, gesture for ASP.NET, file access settings and also shown how to use IntelliTrace in different aspect of debugging ASP.NET Application. After that, Session was all about ASP.NET Developers, where I explained about Tracking ASP.NET Page Life Cycle using IntelliTrace, Dealing with HTTP Modules using IntelliTrace. I had also explained in different naming convention for  .iTraceLog File for Worker Process, Webdev.webserver20.exe ( Targeting CLR 2.0 ) and webdev.webserver40.exe ( Targeting CLR 4.0 )  with demo. Yes, this was really interesting. Finally I have explained about IIS Request processing and using IntelliTrace to get info out of it. Also described how you can debug you application using   from IIS.
