Today, Daily.NET Tips marks its 7th Anniversary!! Exactly seven years ago, Today (27th Dec 2010) I founded Daily .NET Tips, with a vision to have a single knowledge base of .NET Tips and Tricks and share a post that can quickly help developers. Yes, now and then, it’s been 7 years since starting the wonderful space, that has become an integral part of my day to day learning.
This is the season of joy and the time to express gratitude. Wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance. Daily .NET Tips is aiming to sharing useful coding tips and tricks for .NET Developers. This site completely design for sharing Tips and Tricks, useful Code Snippet, new features, which developers uses in their daily development work and targeted anything related with .NET. In this post I am quickly listing down all the tips shared over the month of Aug 2017.
Habit is a repeat performance of our behavior on any given day or time. In a simple term, Habit is nothing but automating your practice. We do it knowingly or unknowingly. If you can pick up something that is helpful for you and make it into a routine habit – there is nothing can be better than this. As much as you focus on building on new habits, you also need to make sure you are letting your bad habit goes.
Packt Publishing released a new title named, “Mastering Visual Studio 2017” authored by Kunal Chowdhury. I received a free copy of this book from the author and agreed to read the book and write the review.
As the title says, this book turned out to be an excellent and detailed collection of insights on various powerful capabilities of Visual Studio 2017. The approach of the book made it very easy to follow, learn as it takes you through the insides of each topic. Ranging from the installation changes to new features introduced in the Visual Studio IDE, followed by features added in it, C# 7.0 will give you the base to start with Visual Studio 2017. Then, we will move on to learning how to build apps for Windows using XAML tools, UWP tools, and .NET Core; we will learn about NuGet, more on debugging and unit testing applications, cloud development with Azure, and source controls like Git/TFS.
I am very pleased to announce the availability of my second book, and our first book HoloLens Blueprints – co-authored by Manish Sharma, Mallikarjuna Rao, and Myself. This book introduces and demystifies the HoloLens platform. You will start your mixed-reality journey by understanding different types of digital reality. You will learn to build your first holographic app. Also, you will understand holographic application integration possibilities within Line of Business (LOB) Applications using Azure. Moving ahead, you will create Integrated Solutions using IoT with HoloLens. Gradually you’ll learn how to create and deploy apps on a device. You will learn to publish application to the store; if you are an enterprise developer, you will also manage and distribute applications for enterprise-enabled or domain-joined HoloLens.

Holographic Remoting is a new features of Unity (v5.5), that reduces your development iteration during deployment of Holographic Apps from Unity. Using Holographic Remoting, we don’t need to build project as Universal Windows Apps and run it from Visual Studio separately. Holographic Remoting allows you to run your apps directly from the Unity Editor after connecting to Microsoft HoloLens.
